The Movie Remark Podcast: Pasolini at 100

2022 marks the start centenary of the nice filmmaker, author, and mental Pier Paolo Pasolini. To have fun his legacy, Fireflies Press has revealed a brand new e-book, Pier Paolo Pasolini: Writing on Burning Paper, that includes reflections from Mike Leigh, Helena Wittman, Alexandre Koberidze, Jia Zhangke, Angela Schanelec, and plenty of different filmmakers on the highly effective affect the auteur continues to exert on up to date cinema.

To debate the e-book and mirror on Pasolini’s life and work, Movie Remark’s Devika Girish and Clinton Krute sat down with Giovanni Marchini Camia, co-publisher of Fireflies Press, and filmmaker Radu Jude, one of many contributors to Writing on Burning Paper. Amongst different nice insights, Giovanni reveals how the title of the e-book—and in reality, the identify “Fireflies Press” itself—was impressed by Pasolini’s writings, and  Radu remembers his first encounters with Pasolini’s work on the Romanian Cinematheque in Bucharest within the early ’90s.
